I was given the flowers after an art reception for the Pastel Society of Tampa Bay. I brought them home in a plain glass florist's vase and put them on the work table in my studio. Miss Puss jumped up on the table to investigate and she wouldn't leave them alone. So the next day I put them into a different container (see the painting Reflections in a Mexican Mirror) and made it into a still life complete with cloth and fallen flowers. I could get her attention by wiggling a long ruler under the cloth near the fallen flower, and the rest was "history"...which translates into a lot of work! It also started me off on a new series of Miss Puss and the Flower Paintings.
